Guadalupe Ceniceros holds an associate degree from St. Augustine College in Accounting and is a proud small business owner. For more than 20 years, Guadalupe and her team have successfully operated Refurnishing Tech, a refurnishing business in Chicago, IL. Over the last two decades, she has experienced and learned from the challenges of being a small business owner, especially as a Latina woman. On the job, she has learned the importance of negotiating and when not to undersell the value of her work and products. Along the way, she has also learned the importance of tapping into the community and establishing a supportive network of Latinas entrepreneurs that can lean on each other as they grow their businesses.

As part of the Brighton Park Neighborhood Council, she facilitated a variety of workshops to the Latino community, including leadership development for Latinas and community activism.  In 2018, she joined the Mujeres Latinas en Accion’s Empresarias del Futuro (EDF) Program. EDF is an educational training designed for women who want to initiate or expand a small business. This training provides participants with leadership, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship tools that support women in business and help them on the road to obtaining financial independence. Guadalupe, as an and EDF Advocate, provides instruction and personal coaching to new and emerging Latina entrepreneurs, helping them build their financial literacy, develop a multi-year business plan, a gives key guidance as they navigate marketing and capital access from financing institutes. Guadalupe enjoys working at Mujeres Latinas en Accion because she recognizes the barriers Latinas face in the United States. She enjoys knowing that for these Latinas will feel embolden and empowered by planning and building their financial independence.
